Colosseum and Trevi Fountain on a sunny day in Rome, Italy
A wonderful sunny day in Rome with two of history's greatest monuments.
**The Colosseum:** Built starting in 70 AD, inaugurated in 80 AD. Capacity for over 80,000 people β more than Brazilian soccer stadiums. A monument built TWO THOUSAND YEARS ago.
**Trevi Fountain:** Dating from 19 BC. Tourists make a wish and throw a coin β supposedly guaranteeing a return to Rome. In 2016, about US$1.5 million was collected from those coins.
**Roman Forum and Palatine Hill:** Also visited on this day. Buy tickets online in advance to save time in queues.
